Josephine comes from a mixed cultural background. She grew up in England and in France and has been living in Barcelona since 1997. She studied history and philosophy and then physical theatre (Lecoq method). She also has a background in music and works as a professional voice artist.
In the last 8 years she has become especially interested in butoh dance (Rosana Barra, Ariel Procajlo, Atsushi Takenouchi, Tebby Ramisake, Minako Seki, Gyohei Zaitsu, Daisuke Yoshimoto...) as a means of combining different disciplines and moving beyond conventional classifications of performance. In particular she has been exploring the relationship between voice, musical forms and dance.
“I feel the need to share the experience and knowledge that I've gained, through my experiences of butoh and the creative environment in Barcelona, to open myself to other perspectives and influences, and see how my work functions in different cultural and artistic contexts. I am also very interested in taking my work back to the UK, which is where I started out from, and which shares certain characteristics with Norway.”

Tove- Elena Nicolaysen
Elena is a contemporary hybrid artist and producer. She considers the interrelation between visual art, painting and performative art. Focusing on butoh dance and abstract exspressionism-through painting, as well as installation and performance.
Tove- Elena Nicolaysen has a mixed identity from a chilean father and a norwegian mother. She believes that north and south are equal parts in the creative process. As well as in any human or natural process there is a balance between earth and sky. Creating conscientious collaborations between the north and the south.
She has been living and creatin the last 10 years in Barcelona where she studied at Laboratorio Escuela, she created the artistic platform with the name Peregrino 13 in 2012. In 2010 she met the japanese butoh master Atsushi Takenouchi (Jinen Buoh) in Paris. She continues studying and producing workshops and performances for Jinen Butoh in Oslo and Barcelona. In 20014/20015 she studied arts at Strykejernet kunstskole in Oslo. At the moment she is studying Terapia Psyco Corporal Integral in Barcelona, working as a producer for Stems Festival and finnishing her solo work "52 Hertz".
